Passwords

Password should be changed once a month on all online content from e-mail
accounts to online banking and anything else you use.
Having passwords that are just words can be poor choices as they can be guessed
or broken readily. The best method for secure password is 8 to 10 characters of
course 14 or more is even better. The problem is how do you remember a complex
secure password that contains letters upper and lower case, numbers and other
symbols such as a ? or “ and so on.
One method is using a sentence you can remember like: “I
went to the animal fair, the birds and the bees were there.
” I can now
take the first letter from each word iwttaftbatbwt
and I have a good password. Now of course to make this even better I can
capitalize certain letters iWtTaFtBaTbWt and now
it's even harder to break. If I want to make it even more secure I can add
numbers iWtTaF617tBaTbWt Use numbers that mean
something to you so don't forget them. To make this a even better I add some
special symbols iWtTaF?617tBaTbWt!
One interesting thing I found from creating the first part of the password to
adding the additional uppercase, lowercase and symbols to increase the strength
is that Microsoft considers them all strong. To get their best reading for a
password you would need it to be 21 characters long.
Use different passwords for your e-mail, websites, and other Web services.
